Negroamaro, Casato di Melzi

Touches of pepper, bergamo cherries and black fruits on the nose, with an intensely fruity and full bodied palate.

Negroamaro is cultivated on flat land in Salento, about 100 metres above sea level, with higher than average temperatures, and very little rainfall. The vines are rooted into a top layer of metre deep, medium-grained clay.

Grapes are harvested and taken to the winery for de-stemming and crushing. Stainless steel, temperature controlled fermentation before malolactic fermentation and ageing in stainless steel and bottle, with no oak.
