Description
Here’s the thing… THIS IS NOT Sauvignon, but people have taken to calling it the ‘English Sauvignon’, and when you taste it you’ll understand why. Slightly floral with elderflower and tropical fruit, this is a perfect wine for sitting in the Sun and enjoying a second glass! If you like New Zealand Sauvignon, expand your horizons and give this a try.
Aromatic, bright and zesty. Notes of elderflower and gooseberry accompanied by fleshier stone and citrus fruit flavours of melon, white peach and orange. Hints of white currant and lime zest are softened by a creaminess and structure on the palate that delivers a lovely balance of fresh, bright acidity and vibrant fruit and floral aromas that leap out of the glass.
Gardner Street has the classic floral, elderflower note we have come to know of contemporary Bacchus, married with a touch of ripe stone fruit from the barrel fermented Chardonnay.
30% of the blend was fermented in neutral 300L French oak barrels and allowed to go through malolactic fermentation, while the remaining parcels were fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel and did not go through malolactic fermentation.
